About

RememberWell.net was created by Heather Swain, a designer, artist, painter, photographer, chef and student of popular culture—music especially. Rememberwell.net was inspired by a course Ms. Swain took on death and dying at the University of California at Berkeley, where she received her degree in Art History. “I am interested not in death, but in the concept and process of dying well and being remembered well afterwards,” she said. “My site is both a resource center and a memorial site. Eventually I’d like it to be the first place people come to find the information they need about death and dying, and to post tributes to the people they loved.” Ms. Swain, born and raised in the Bay Area of California, has worked in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and San Francisco. Today, she lives with her two dogs, Sister Darla and Jency La Rue in Santa Monica, Ca. and is working to institute RememberWell.net as a non-profit to educate all people about green burial and home funerals.
